EDUCATION
Education is a necessary foundation for building a better life
and it is the best investment that one can make for the development
of the individual and society. Although the Lebanese constitution
makes education - at least primary education - legally required, many
areas around the country still have many children out of school.
Consequently, the Fares Foundation has accorded education a high priority
in its programs. The Foundation provides various forms of aid to educational
institutions
so that they may be able to play their role effectively.
The Fares Foundation has provided large-scale aid to a number of
educational institutions, among which we mention the following:
|
The National Orthodox School, Sheikh
Taba Akkar, Main Building. |
|
The Issam Fares School (entire),
administered by the Islamic Maqasid Charity, Akkar Atika. |
|
Daoud Karam School, Koura, Secondary
Education Building. |
|
International College, Beirut, Main
Lecture Hall. |
|
University of Balamand, Arts and
Sciences Building, and the Issam Fares Forum in the Administration
Building. |
|
American University of Beirut, Medical
Lecture Hall, and Entrance Arcade of College Hall. |
|
Notre Dame University, Louaize,
Architecture and Fine Arts Building. |
|
Antonin University, Baabda, Issam
Fares Center for Technology. |
The Foundation also supports and participates in the renovation and
rehabilitation of many public and private schools in Akkar and north
Lebanon, and provides equipment for libraries, laboratories, and other
school and university needs.
The Foundation also assists in literacy campaigns that include adults
and children and sponsors training workshops in various fields. |
