HEALTH
Based on the conviction that health is the cornerstone of human and
social development, and based on the importance of prevention and
awareness alongside treatment in health policy, the Foundation has
developed a general public health program that includes:
The Michel Issam
Fares Clinic in Beino, Akkar, est. in 1983.
The Mikhayel
Gerges Fares Clinic in West Talabbas, Akkar, est. in 1987.
Each clinic includes doctors specialized in general medicine, pediatrics,
cardiology, urology, ophthalmology, as well as a pharmacy that offers
free medications. These two clinics serve thousands of patients every
year.
The Foundation also provides material support to other clinics around
the country. The Fares Foundation participates in vaccination campaigns
in cooperation with the Ministry of Health. The campaigns reach tens
of thousands of children annually.
The Foundation sponsors health awareness campaigns in schools in cooperation
with various NGOs as well as a series of health lectures and conferences
in universities and medical centers.
The Foundation has also provided the large Issam Fares Lecture Hall
at the Medical School of the American university of Beirut, the Nursing
School of the Islamic Hospital in Tripoli, and various ambulances
to a number of hospitals, dispensaries, and NGOs. It has also provided
equipment to various medical centers and laboratories. |
