Inauguration of the headquarters of the Women's Association in Rachaya and West Bekaa
On Friday April 16th, 2004 the headquarters of the Women's Association in Rachaya and West Bekaa was inaugurated, under the sponsorship of His Excellency Mr. Issam Fares, represented by Dr. Paul Salem, and in presence of the region's MPs, the caimacam, ministers' wives, Ministry of Social Affairs' representative as well as locals and other figures from the region. Fifty-four female students attended a computer session, as well as a glass-shaping and woodcarving session, organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Affairs. The Association's president, Mrs. Wafaa Fayçal Daoud, thanked President Fares for his support, which helped the association to establish its social and educational development center. Dr. Salem, from his part, asserted in his speech that creating and supporting such centers aims at promoting civil society development and contribute to achieving balanced development to which all Lebanese aspire.
